How does Cryotherapy work?

1. Initial assessment: Our podiatrist will examine your verruca and decide if Cryotherapy is the right option for you.
2. Freezing procedure: During the session liquid nitrogen is applied to the verruca using our specialised Cryopen. This freezes the tissue and kills the infected cells.
3. Treatment sessions: Cryotherapy may require multiple sessions spaced about 2 weeks apart depending on the size and depth of the verruca.

What to Expect during Treatment:

• Slight discomfort may be felt during the freezing process similar to a stinging or burning sensation.
• After the treatment the verruca area may blister which is a normal part of the healing process.
• The area will gradually heal over the coming days and weeks as the dead tissue sheds.

Aftercare and Recovery

Following Cryotherapy you may experience some mild swelling, redness or blistering at the treatment site. This is normal. Keep the area clean and dry and avoid popping any blisters. You can resume most of your regular activities right away though strenuous exercise may need to be avoided for a few days.
